Women Helping Women

Our mission

Women Helping Women has been a pillar of breast cancer awareness, prevention and advocacy in our community for the past two decades. Thanks to the generosity of many donors, Women Helping Women provides funding for the women’s clinic at Hancock Regional Hospital, which offers free mammograms and other life-saving health services for under/uninsured women in our community.

What's new in 2020?

Typically,  our annual Women Helping Women Celebration brings together 400 community members for a fun night with dinners, speakers and an auction, honoring those who have battled breast cancer as we raise funds to support the program. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, we are unable to hold an in-person event and instead will be raising funds virtually.

This year, our clinic is in a very vulnerable position. The current health and economic crisis has significantly impacted the clinic’s other funding sources, making it even more crucial for Women Helping Women to support these programs. The pandemic has been difficult for everyone, especially those who are low income and/or without health insurance. It's becoming increasingly important that the women's clinic is there to serve individuals in our community who cannot afford their mammograms and other health care services.

How can you help?

We hope you'll consider making a gift. Your support of this fundraiser will allow even more women to receive these important healthcare services. You can also become one of our Pink Warriors and set an individual or team goal, raising money from your own friends and family.

Our virtual Women Helping Women fundraiser will run from October 19-30. Follow Hancock Health Foundation on Facebook to see videos, patient testimonials and more about Women Helping Women. Use the hashtag #2020WomenHelpingWomen on social media to help us spread the word!
